The SIRIS beacon is specially designed for night diving operations to identify personnel and equipment. It has been supplied to US forces including the USCG and NATO allies. The unit allows the person in the water to be identified at extended ranges using image intensified night vision goggles (NVGs). Visible versions can be used in an emergency situation as a rescue beacon. Available in several different diode colors, this enhanced beacon has selectable flashing-only or constant-on modes and is completely submersible. The SIRIS is watertight to 150 feet and can be worn on the wrist, arm or attached to clothing with the included clip.
Users can utilize the SIRIS during nighttime diving operations to quickly identify divers in the water as well as obstacles and cleared lanes or breaches. The visible unit can be used in training and in emergency situations.
